Sandy Stamets is a native of Martinsburg, WV. She received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Shepherd College, with an emphasis in piano and organ. When in college, she was organist at Trinity Methodist Church in Martinsburg. After getting married, Sandy moved to Montgomery, PA where she was organist/choir director in a local church. She then moved to Houston, TX where she was choir director at the Spring Branch Church of the Nazarene.
Now Sandy is back “home” in Martinsburg. She has been organist/pianist in several churches over the years including Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town, First Baptist Church in Martinsburg, and Falling Waters Presbyterian Church in Hedgesville. Sandy has accompanied several musical productions at the Historic Apollo Theatre in Martinsburg including The Sound of Music, The King and I, and musical director for Finnian’s Rainbow. She has also taught private piano and organ lessons off and on for 35 years. Sandy retired from music teaching at Hedgesville Middle School and is currently the organist and choir director at Johnsontown Bible Church in Hedgesville.
